As part of our commitment to support the communities in which we work, our Morrison Telecom Services’ Gillingham office has been supporting a birth trauma and bereavement care charity, Making Miracles.
Making Miracles offers families the support, services and tools they need to help find their ‘new normal’ following trauma and grief. In Rochester, Making Miracles have a Baby Memorial Garden, which offers people a space for remembrance.
This summer, members of our Gillingham office volunteered to maintain the gardens. Ben Read, Emma Timberlake, Daisy Jenson, Natalie Denham, Jim Eades, and Jane Williams came together to restore one side of the garden, which had become quite overgrown. Our team weeded, raked, trimmed and pruned the garden, as well as tidying the toolbox and cutting back brambles.
As part of the work, our volunteers created an area of wooded cuttings, to provide a safe space for wildlife to hibernate over the autumn and winter months.
Recently, Harpal Sandhu, Maddie Miller, Craig Sampson and Tom Edwards returned to the grounds to tidy the fairy garden and prepare in readiness for planting spring bulbs and plants.
We would like to thank Savills, AA Covers and Darren Stubbs of Nurture Landscapes for supporting with the donation of bulbs, plants, solar lights and other garden tools.
Speaking on the support, Faye Martin, a volunteer at Making Miracles, said: “Thank you to Morrison Telecom Services for all the hard work and time they have given to Making Miracles to help maintain our Baby Memorial Garden.
“The garden is a beautiful space for our families to visit, it takes a lot of maintaining and we are extremely grateful for everything the team have achieved at the garden and for the fundraising that is taking place over the next couple of months. We look forward to continuing the partnership and seeing you all again soon for another garden day.”
